Box Card

I found a tutorial on how to make a box card on cardz TV.  Mary made a great video on how to make this type of adorable card.  What I like about her directions is that the card fits in an A2 envelope.  There are many videos on Youtube on how to make these cards at all different sizes.  Check out Mary's video here.

This is a card that I made for a friend graduating soon.

This card looks complicated but it is sooo easy.  And I was able to use scraps to make it.

The front is decorated simply and the back has a blank piece of cardstock to write your sentiment.



Then once you squeeze the sides and open it up....

Happy Birthday card

I can't remember which how to book I found this layout in but I love it.  Pretty but simple. It's probably from the CTMH Originals book.  That is my go to book when I am stuck for a design.  The cards sketches are awesome and can be adapted to any set of papers or embellishments.

Simple birthday card and digital scrapbooking special

Here is a simple card that can be used for anyone.  I love this paper pack but it's an old one.  Brown and pink or blue are awesome combinations.

Simple Birthday Card

Have a lot of scraps and don't know what to do with them?  This is such an easy card to make.  I had a lot of small scraps left and didn't want to toss them.  So I came up with this happy Birthday card.  You could embellish it to jazz it up more or leave it plain.  I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to find matching embellishments in my stash.  This layout is also great for a masculine card.  I always have trouble with masculine cards but this would make it easy.

Kid Valentines

My daughter needed Valentines for her preschool class and what kind of a crafting mom would I be if I went out and bought them at the store?  So we made them together!  Although she probably would have loved the Doc McStuffin's ones that I saw.  But there will be other Valentine's parties.

So this year I came up with this simple design.  I cut card stock and embossed it with the heart designs. She did help for a few but lost interest in this real fast.  I cut out the shapes on the cricut and she stamped the images.  Which is why most of them aren't lined up.  But that's what mades it homemade by a 4 year old!  She even glued some of the sentiments upside down.

She needed 16 for school plus a couple for cousins so we only did a few each day.  This kept it interesting for her.  Also, she started out doing a whole step like put the adhesive on the cut out and put it on the card.  But after a few, I added the adhesive to keep her interested.

The heart stamp is an old Stamp of the month stamp and is no longer available.  However, the Happy Valentine's Day stamp came from Holiday Tags and is available and coordinates with the Artiste cartridge.  It's my go to stamp set lately.

Hi everyone.  Sorry I haven't been around lately.  My family has been really sick and I was even in the hospital with my 1 year old.  Thank God everyone is on the upswing now.  Still not 100% yet but life is getting back to normal.

Here is a pretty birthday card for a friend nearing an older milestone birthday.  Only best friends could appreciate a little teasing on their birthday.

Laughing Lola Birthday cards

Card Workshop

I don't know how, but I never really looked into this card workshop before.  It's a complete set to make 15 cards.  All you need is adhesive and ink.  I'm so glad I discovered this kit because it is going to retire at the end of the month.

I really like the stamp set because they can be used in so many ways.  I have so many love stamps but honestly, how many love cards to you give out in a year?

Wedding gift

I friend recently asked me to make these mugs to give as a gift.  She had seen the set somewhere else but thought that I might be able to reproduce them.  It was so easy but looks so nice.  I found the white mugs at IKEA and I used black vinyl to cut the letters.

If you use the cricut craft room, you can weld the letters together so that it looks much more elegant and easier to apply.  The font is from the CTMH Artbooking cartridge.

Thanks Becky for the inspiration!  I hope that this also inspires others.

Cloud 9 card variations

So I really loved making the cards in the new Cloud 9 card kit.  There was a ton of washi tape and shimmer tape left over so I decided to make more.  Only this time I used paper from the Laughing Lola paper pack.

The stamp set included in the Cloud 9 card kit coordinates with the CTMH Artiste cartridge so I could cut out many more pieces.  I still have a lot of blue shimmer tape and polka dot washi tape left.  Time to get creative and figure out what else I can make with it.

Merry Christmas gift card holder

Merry Christmas to everyone!  I am looking forward to Christmas morning with my children.  My youngest is only 15 months so he doesn't know what to expect but I can't wait to see how he will react.  I think that it took a week for my oldest to open presents when she was that age.  Not anymore though!  That changes quickly.  But I will just enjoy the day with my family without any major responsibilities.  Just play time.

Here is one more Christmas card before the holiday.  I whipped up a few of these for the last minute gift cards that I bought.

The center section holds the gift card.  To make this, cut a piece of card stock 12 x 5.5" and score at 4.25', 6', and 7.75".  Fold on the score marks and fold the center section inward.  Cut a notch the width of the gift card so that you can slide it in.  Make sure that you add adhesive inside the flaps or the gift card will just fall out.  Doesn't make sense as I'm writing this but once you cut and score, it will make sense.

I decorated part of the inside with paper mostly because I dropped the ink pad and made a mess that needed to be covered ; /

My Little Pony party

My daughter turned 4 and she wanted a pony party.  Mostly because she wanted a pony on her cake like her cousin had a barbie on her cake.  It's not easy creating unique items for a My Little Pony party so I did buy a lot of items.  I thought that I would share what I got and how the party turned out.

Papa is a baker so he made the cake.  The most important things that she wanted on her cake were a rainbow and ponies.  So papa iced the cakes all up and put on the rainbow.  It broke a little in the process and he was disappointed.  She didn't care.  She decorated the rest and she was so excited that she got to do it.  What a great memory for her.

Did you  know that the little picture on the pony's butt is a cutie mark?  So this is pin the cutie mark on the pony.  A big hit with the birthday girl.

And the birthday girl got to decorate the treat bags.  I added a rainbow cut from the Create a Critter cartridge and added the kids names.  I found the barrettes, tattoos, and blowouts from www.partycity.com.  The pin a cutie mark on the pony also came from www.partycity.com

I used the Cricut Craft Room to create this shape card for the birthday girl.  Sorry, I don't remember which cartridge the font came from.  To make this card, I copied the number 4 and then flipped the copy horizontally.  Then weld the top edges together to create the fold.  I then cut a slightly smaller 4 from the patterned paper to decorate the top.  Very simple and cute.
