Santa gift bag

I've made similar Christmas cards in the past so this year I decided to add it to a gift bag.  Something though doesn't look quite right.  I think that I need to change the belt a little.  Make it bigger I think.  Maybe add some bling too.

Snowman gift bag

Well, I am going to be sharing some Christmas crafts in the coming weeks because I am getting ready for a vendor show.  I will be selling cards, gift bags, and gifts.  Here's the first gift bag I'm making.

I used the Winter Frolic cartridge for most of the elements.  Tune in tomorrow to see what else I've whipped up.

Coloring can be very therapeutic

CTMH now has alcohol markers similar to Copic markers.  So I decided to start buying them a couple at a time to play with.  And I forget everything going on around me while I color!  so relaxing.

The stamp set was a stamp of the month so now it is retired.  But I had fun coloring in the peaches.  The markers give a realistic look when you layer on colors.  In contrast, the green leaves are not alcohol based markers.  I am going to have fun with these new markers.

Masculine Birthday Card

Today's card is the same as yesterday's with a twist.  I kept the card simple and took out the pink to make a masculine card.  I hope that it shows that you can make so many varieties of the same layout.

I used CTMH Artbooking cartridge again to make the background and the Just A Number stamp set for the sentiment.

Chocolate Understands

I love this stamp set.  This saying is perfect for any best friend needing a pick me up.  It was the stamp of the month last month so unfortunately it is now unavailable.  I cut all of the elements of this card using the CTMH Artbooking cartridge.  These overlays make great patterns for cards and scrapbook pages.  And to make it even easier, I used a Cricut craftroom file from another blog.  She posts all of the files of her artwork.  How much easier can that get?  Then just choose your own colors, sentiments, and change a little of this or that to make it your own. Visit Melanie at Courtney Lane Designs to get other ideas and the files to her art.

Merry Christmas in... September?

I wanted to play with my new CTMH Artbooking cartridge today and decided to start with trying out Christmas cards.  I love how it turned out and I think that I am going to try a scrapbook layout soon.  The kids aren't letting me do much crafting lately (baby climbing up the stairs and emptying everything in sight) and I really miss it.  So, I don't know when I will get to the layout but it's on the to do list ;).  I do have a couple of more cards to share this week if I can get them finished up during nap time.  Wish me luck.

Check out the CTMH Artbooking handbook here.  And then shop with ME.

Goodbye Summer

Since the weather here is going to make a drastic turn, I decided to try out this snowman card to remember that things could be worse than 60 degrees.  This is not my original design.  I copied it from someone at some point but I don't remember who or when.  The circles and snowflake background are cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  I think this is so cute that I just had to share my version of it.  Stay warm my friends.

A touch of class.

Purple is my favorite color so I loved the Laughing Lola paper pack from Close To My Heart.  I haven't figured out how to use it for masculine cards but the paper sure makes pretty girly cards.  There is also a workshop on the go kit to make cards from this set.  I haven't tried it yet but maybe on my next order.  My wish list is too long!  I only wish I had more time to work on the ideas that I have in my head.

It's National Stamping Month!  Who would have thought huh?  But anything for a great excuse for a deal.  Get a triple stamp set with a $50 purchase.

Hugs!

The pattern for this card is in the Make It From Your Heart Vol 1 book from Close To My Heart.  I love this how to book because it has scrapbook layouts and card layouts and is inexpensive.  The paper is from the Chantilly paper pack.  Also one of of my favorites.  I think that I am going to have to stock up on these paper packs by the end of the year before they retire ;)

Happy Crafting

Summer Layout

The first layout I wanted to create using the Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut cartridge is a combination of summer elements on pages 52, 53, and 62.  The cartridge  shows you how to easily make a complete layout but I wanted to think outside the box a bit.  I hope to have more to come as I try and catch up with my son's first year scrapbook.

Interested in learning more about the Artbooking cartridge?  Close To My Heart is producing new videos weekly to showcase artwork ideas from this cartridge.  And don't think that it's just for scrapbooking.  The shapes can be easily manipulated to create beautiful cards.

Minion Card

I saw a fellow Close To My Heart consultant post a minion card and I had to copy it.  I used the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and Cricut Craftroom to create this card.  If only I could add sound effects.  They make me laugh.

John Deere Party

My son recently turned one and in honor of the giant John Deere tractor my husband just bought, we had a themed party.  My Dad decorated the cake like a construction site.  We were able to find chocolate rocks in 2 sizes at the local cake store.  He made the hill out of cupcakes and iced it and decorated it with crushed Oreos.  The picture doesn't do the cake justice.

I made party gifts for the kids who came to celebrate.  I found the buckets and shovels on Oriental Trading.com.  I put the shovel in a green cellophane bag and filled it with M&Ms.  I made chocolate tractor suckers from a mold I found at the local cake decorating store.  Then I cut out the kids names on the Cricut.  I cut vinyl using all settings at 3 and it turned out perfect.  The vinyl is really stuck to the buckets and I think that it will last a long time.  The font is from Cricut Craftroom Basics.

I also found a large bucket at Michael's and added the birthday boy's name to it and filled it with dirt cake.  I added gummy worms and chocolate rocks for a "realistic effect".  This font is from Close To My Heart Art Philosophy.

Happy Birthday Connor!

Welcome

Welcome to my craft room.  I have a lot of projects that I would like to share so I decided to start a blog.  For the past few years, I have been into paper crafting but you never know when I might share something completely different.  Let me know what you think.

Here is a pop up gift card that I recently made after seeing a tutorial on pinterest. (LOVE pinterest, don't you?)

I used the Chantilly paper pack from Close To My Heart and the sentiment was stamped with Just a Number D1514 from Close To My Heart.

Here are the directions that I found for the pop up card.  It's much easier than it looks.  It would even be great for making in bulk to have enough on hand for the last minute gift.
